Ok the talk with a few friends has been that of grinding, building slowly and all the stuff we all know we should do. Actually all the stuff we HAVE to do if any of us who want to actually make it in the sense of having a sustainable decent bankroll and playing at the appropriate levels.
It may come as no shock to those who know me, that this week has sort of been the exact opposite!
I have played great poker this week, infact in the last 3 months I think I have been playing the best poker I have ever played.
The Week
Last Saturday started off playing cash at my local game, highlight was a straight flush against Eddie "the fish" Gaines (or Eddie "GCBPT Edinburgh Champ 2007" Gaines) :P Then a few drunks sat down, stack was up and down like my ex girlfriends skirt. Result (Small profit of £70 paid for the drinks and food :D)
Sunday:- Charlie Findlay sleeps with the fish (got buy in back for £75 game, nuff said on this one :D)
Monday:- Went to sattelite for Scottish Poker Championships £1k main event, £50 rebuy 8 seats, finished 19th, not to upset.
Tuesday: £100 + (£50 add on or rebuy) 138 runners, became a crapshoot, last 17 of us chopped it up for £1200 each good deal. Congratulations to me, Stu the Jew, Kev, Sunny and "had to call" Dalson.
Wednesday: Final Tabled Local £30 (£30 add on or rebuy) tourney, buy in back.
Thursday: 3rd in local £50 freezeout for £240 (bad game less than 30 runners, no value, will only play again if really at a loose end. (so see u all next Thursday boys!! :D)
Friday..................Day of sin, played $1-$2 on full tilt, had a rollercoaster session, result was finished down $400 (could have been worse but stuck on the Bose headphones, listened to some Beethoven and Elgar and took them to school) Still down but felt like a victory.
Some hands from $1-$2 Full Tilt Session

At night went to casino, called in some debts (always a reaction when u lose HAHAHAHA) came home, got up to Step 4 for EPT london on Stars (not played it yet) also played the 3k euros GTD on boss network, 96 runners. I went out on the bubble in 11th, played well, but no reward.
Lesson from Friday, I have to get disciplined and transfer my live game online, my tourney results have been excellent and feel I am playing well, cash feels like a big leak for me just now and that should NEVER be the case.
Plan for weekend, play some cash in casino, don't think I will play the Sunday tourney (same problem as thursday game now, I can get more value online) Also play that EPT step 4 ticket, and play some more EPT steps, they are satisfying the taking a shot part of me :D
Good luck at the tables

It really starts now
I started playing poker in April 2007, I cannot begin to describe how much I love the game, whether it's holdem, omaha or 7 card stud. I am now obsessed. In the 17 months or so I have played their have been many highs and many lows!! The highs are cashing for $6k for a 5th place finish in the nightly hundred k on stars, £2k cash in my first two day tournament, making day two of the GCBPT in Edinburgh, oh and doing a 17 way chop in the £100 buy in event at the Scottish Poker Championships! :D Positive EV :P
The lows, playing outwith my bankroll far too many times, "chasing rainbows" as a couple of poker friends say!! ;) Buying into bigger tourneys to try and get a bit of glory. When you combine this with a lack of discipline and a total disregard and lack of respect for money, it is no surprise that the result was me busting out a very decent bankroll.
However, I have learned so much about the the game, and hope I am starting to become disciplined!
This new mentality resulted in the creation of this blog, it is my public diary. Somewhere for me to write about and disect my thoughts, results, good plays and obviously fuck ups.
Somewhere that my poker friends (and anyone that stumbles across this) can look at my actions, comment on and discuss with me my actions on the road to poker glory :D
There will be no plan of action for my blog, it will be updated when i take the notion (maybe never! :D) I hope to get a definite list of goals and a plan of action together, so I have something to aim at and follow (currently formulating this!!!)
Good Luck at the tables
